InterCard has overseen for Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper the design and introduction of a new electronic gift card. This is to replace the current paper vouchers and be used in the branches and in the newly created online shop. In addition, the purpose of the gift voucher card was to act as a tool of identification in order to secure brand loyalty. Initially, 250,000 specially designed Pieper gift voucher cards in the form of bank cards were produced.
InterCard fitted all the merchant’s POS terminals with new software, developed the interface with one of the biggest global gift voucher card providers and installed a comprehensive web system for reporting gift voucher card sales. Thanks to very low external development costs for Stadt-Parfumerie Pieper, the project was able to go live in time for the important Christmas shopping season.
Since Autumn 2009, the gift voucher cards have been available in all Pieper branches and its own online shop. These are very popular as Christmas, Valentine’s or Mother’s Day presents. The paper voucher is no longer used.
Over 1.2 million gift voucher cards with an individual design produced and sold testify to the success of the product.
Since the successful implementation of the project, Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper has registered a significant increase in its gift voucher card sales and has generated additional sales, as many clients make purchases for an amount exceeding the value of the gift voucher card.
