The German Banking Industry Committee (GBIC) is the voice of the leading German banking-sector associations. GBIC superseded the 'Zentraler Kreditausschuss (ZKA)' in August 2011, carrying on the latter’s work.

Reduction of the floor limit to zero per card sale made by the merchant for certain transaction types. This measure obliges the merchant (or the acquirer bank) to submit an authorisation request (online or by telephone) to the issuer bank regardless of the amount. A zero floor limit applies to ATMs.
